REPEAT PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS BY EMAIL:
We are pleased to announce that we will accept repeat prescritpion requests by email. Send requests to shgscripts@nhs.net - please note that we can only process repeat requests if the medication requested is already on your repeat list and is due for issue. If your prescriptions are usually passed to a local chemist, repeat requests via this method will also go to that chemist. We cannot answer any other queries via this email address.
SWINE FLU UPDATE 10/02/10
If you think you may have swine flu - DO NOT COME TO THE SURGERY:
1. Check your symptoms by:
- visiting www.direct.gov.uk/pandemicflu
2. If you still think you have swine flu:
- call NHS Direct on 0845 4647 or the surgery on 01784 461712 or 465229
- If antivirals are indicated, the practice will be able to supply a form for collection by a 'flu friend' to obtain antifirals from the colleciton
points.
The practice will update information as and when available via answerphone messages, notices at the surgery and this notice board.
We have plenty of swine flu vaccine and contine to vaccinate any patients in phase 1 or phase 2 below and all should have received letters of invitation. If you believe you are eligible, and would like to be vaccinated, please call the surgery and will be able to give you an appointment or details of clinic dates.
Eligible groups for swine influenza vaccination - phase 1:
Priority 1 - Patients aged 6 months to 64 years, in the current seasonal flu vaccine clinical at risk groups
Priority 2 - All pregnant women
Priority 3 - Household contacts of immunocompromised patients
Priority 4 - Patients aged 65 and over, in the current seasonal flu vaccine clinical at risk groups (as below)
Eligible groups for swine influenza vaccination - phase 2:
Children aged 6 months to under 5 years (ie all children regardless of risk factors)
The seasonal flu at risk groups comprise patients with the following conditions:
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema; bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung fibrosis, pneumoconiosis and bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD)
Asthma that requires continuous or repeated use of inhaled or systemic steroids or with previous exacerbations requiring hospital admissions
Chronic heart disease
Chronic renal disease
Chronic liver disease
Chronic neurological disease
Diabetes
Immunosuppression
