Surgery Times
Opening Times
We are open from 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and from 8.00am to 1.00pm on Wednesdays. We also open on Saturdays from 8.00 to 11.30am for pre-booked GP and nurse appointments only (reception is closed). All emergencies over the weekend are still dealt with by our
out-of-hours service provider see below.
Weekend And Night Cover
We close at 6.00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, although the phones will remain manned until 6.30pm.
On Wednesday we close at 1.00pm and we are closed throughout weekends. During these periods our out-of-hours services are run by Thamesdoc, a doctors’ on-call co-operative. Thamesdoc will provide
cover at all times when the surgery is closed and can be contacted on 020 8390 9991.
The service provided will depend upon the nature of the problem and may include telephone advice, the
opportunity to see a doctor at the new primary care centre at Ashford Hospital, or a home visit - if
warranted.
Health information and advice is also available from NHS Direct, a 24-hour nurse-led advice line on 0845
4647 (also via www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk).
NHS Walk-in Centres for minor injuries and ailments are located at Ashford Hospital (open 24 hours, no
appointment necessary) in Woking (Tel: 01483 715911 ext 6209) and Weybridge (Tel:
01932 826013). A minor injuries unit at Walton-on-Thames Hospital can be contacted on 01932
220060.
The Ashford Walk-In Centre will deal with:
- Cuts that need stitching or dressing and other minor injuries
- Sprains and strains of muscles and joints
- Minor bone fractures, for example broken ankles or wrists
- Minor burns and scalds
- Minor head injuries in adults under 65 years
- Coughs, colds and flu-like conditions that have not responded to self treatment
- Skin complaints such as rashes, sunburn, head lice, nappy rash
- Women's health problems such as thrush and menstrual problems
- Hay fever, bites and stings
- Removal of foreign bodies, eg small objects from children's noses.
